“Business has thrived during the pandemic because we pivoted instead of panicking. Our third party delivery business increased tremendously. We realized that despite the pandemic people still wanted to eat out.” – Torica Cornelius VP of Operations

ATLANTA, GA, December 15, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Original Hot Dog Factory had a rapid expansion in 2020 due to the “work, win, celebrate” mantra of serial entrepreneur Dennis McKinley. The raving reviews and high business volume from the original Smyrna location led CEO of Detroit Equities Dennis McKinley to the idea that it was time to franchise. Not only are there seven locations (two in Atlanta, Marietta, Lawrenceville, Morrow, Smyrna, Columbus) in Georgia. During the worst pandemic to happen in the 21st Century ‘The Original Hot Dog Factory’ nationally opened locations 3 in Philadelphia, PA, Pittsburg, PA.Houston, TX, Brooklyn,NY, Birmingham, AL, and Voorhees, NJ.

Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC and Baton Rouge, LA is next on the list, along with 60 new partners anxious to get started. “I decided to open multiple locations in Atlanta because it’s the best city in the country right now for franchise owners to thrive. It was important to me to choose high growth areas and hot dog cities when identifying new potential locations. I’m on target to have 95 more locations to open in the next 24-36 months and I’m proud to say 100% of our franchise owners are people of color” says CEO Dennis McKinley.

The purpose of McKinley launching Detroit Equities in 2018 was to focus on helping eager, hard working entrepreneurs around the world with great ideas. A few important factors have contributed to the success of The Original Hot Dog Factory when purchased by McKinley in 2015. THe number one factor was the genius idea when rebranding and repurposing, was to create a family-friendly atmosphere at all dine in locations. The second contributing factor for sustainability during this pandemic was based on the high volume of sales that comes from to-go orders.

According to Torica Cornelius VP, Operations & Sales, “business has thrived during the pandemic because we pivoted instead of panicking, our third party delivery business increased tremendously. We realized that despite the pandemic people still wanted to eat out. We’ve reopened our dining room but still implementing social distance practices.”

Presently Dennis McKinley runs 11 successful businesses in real estate, e-commerce, licensing and business, product development, leadership and hospitality. In the past two years, he was able to connect his business with dynamic companies such as “Book a Model”, “Food Ching”, and “Work Win Celebrate” to name a few. Truly McKinley is one of the top business innovators of 2020 who successfully navigated his way through a very challenging year for the food industry.
