Row Town Music announces the release of Seth Hilary Jackson’s latest song, “Thoughts and Prayers”
“This is a song I was hoping to never have to sing again,” says Seth Jackson, owner of Row Town Music. “I wrote it after the mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde. After that, lawmakers finally pretended that they were going to do something, but all they did was trim around the edges. It’s not going to stop the proliferation of assault weapons.”
Seth’s signature sound is a unique blend of classic rock, pop, and country; his songs cover a range of subjects with an overall theme of moving forward through life’s many challenges. He’s not afraid to tackle difficult subjects ranging from love to mental health to politics. A successful songwriter for more than 20 years, Seth has written for many independent artists, and his songs have been featured in movies and TV shows. One of his proudest moments came when his tribute to a war hero, “Pfc Ross A. McGinnis”, led to a Presidential invitation to the White House.
Originally from Brooklyn, Seth was drawn to music as a boy by listening to famous bands such as the Beatles and by his elder brother who played piano and drums. It was this brother who encouraged him to write his first song during Seth’s final semester at the Wharton School of Business. The second song he ever wrote received airplay on a major Boston area station, which got him started on the road to a career in songwriting. He relocated to California pursue his dream of a hit song and recently returned back East thirty years later. This eventful portion of his life is chronicled in the song “There Is No California”.
