LOS ANGELES, CA, December 02, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — ‘Petersburg Rising’, a new documentary by award winning author, Alan M. Blankstein, is an example of how investing in our children and their education makes the difference, and we are proud to announce its selection in the upcoming Culver City Film Festival.
The story touched on by ‘Petersburg Rising’ has become all too common, as many cities across America, who are struggling with employment, businesses closing in their communities and educational challenges, especially as we continue to deal with COVID-19. This is that story, told through the struggles… and triumphs of 5 students we followed for a year.
“It’s about more than just the schools, it’s about the city as well, because they’re interconnected. It’s hard to have successful schools in an impoverished area. You must align the (school) district, the city and the state.” said Blankstein.
The message that Petersburg Rising sends, validates our students, educators and communities. We hope this journey will be shared across America as the beginning of something larger.
Those in the Los Angeles area, can be a part of the screening, Dec 7th, 2021 at the Cinemark 18 and XD at HHLA, Screen 8, 6081 Center Drive, Los Angeles in Theatre 8 at 2PM. For those of you interested in seeing the film, it will be available on the Roku Shorts Daily Channel. The festival runs December 3,-9th, 2021.
