CLEVELAND, OH, September 11, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — Local film and events producer Brian Bowers is showcasing horror films created by independent filmmakers from all around the world as a part of the inaugural Cleveland Horror Fest, this October 1st – 3rd at Atlas Cinemas in Shaker Square (13116 Shaker Square, Cleveland OH 44120).
People working in the local filmmaking community know Bowers as the former producer of the Cleveland 48 Hour Film Project, the timed filmmaking competition that he produced from 2008-2019. He stepped down from that role almost two years ago to work on other film projects, including Cleveland Horror Fest.
The three day event will showcase between 50-60 horror films from all around the world. Horror film fans will be able to watch features, featurettes, and short films in all different genres of horror. In addition to films, the event features a screenplay competition sponsored by the International Screenwriter’s Association, workshops in filmmaking, screenwriting, and acting, parties, and more.
“I’ve been a fan of horror films from as long back as I can remember,” says Bowers. “Working in the film industry as long as I have has given me lots of great connections and access to the industry resources needed to put on a really great event. It’s a great way for me to share my love of horror with other fans, and to really showcase the great work of talented filmmakers from all around the world.”
Cleveland Horror Fest is run by Bowers under his newly formed nonprofit, the Cleveland Film Collective. The organization serves the film community in the greater Cleveland area by offering affordable marketing, support, consulting, and resources.
