At least 50% of profits will go to charities & non-profits promoting anti-hate and tolerance for others.

CHICAGO, IL, March 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — Painted Girl Records released a new music video on March 14, 2022 for Mary Lemanski’s latest single, “K.A.R.M.A.: Klansmen Are Ruining My America.” The Industrial/Dark/Terror EDM song is composed almost entirely from material taken from hateful voicemails that Mary received after her tweets went viral for making inappropriate jokes and religious comments after the Waukesha tragedy. The new music video, which can be found on Mary Lemanski’s YouTube and Painted Girl Record’s Facebook page, also contains a sampling of hostile texts, letters, and Facebook messages Mary received as well, including texts where it was mistakenly revealed that there was a network of people sending prepared messages to her. The video claims, “We have suspicion to believe Mary was targeted by domestic terrorist & white supremacists groups after speaking at a school board meeting where Proud Boys were present.”

About “K.A.R.M.A.: Klansmen Are Ruining My America,” Mary Lemanski, musician and former social media manager for the DuPage County Democrats, had sad earlier this year, “The Friday after Thanksgiving, I felt like I needed to do more than apologize, so I made a $10,000 donation to the United Way fund for the Waukesha victims,” said Mary, “but I wanted to do something creative to address the greater problem of hatred that we are facing in this country. We are too divided.

“I had at least 30 hateful voicemails that I dumped into Pro Tools, cut up into useful pieces, and then went to work creating art from anger. The entire beat and vocals are made from material from the voicemails I received after my tweets went viral. I then added synth telephone rings and bass lines to fill out the sound.”

Mary has decided that at least 50% of profits from the sale and performance of “K.A.R.M.A.” will go to non-profit organizations actively working to end hate and encourage tolerance and peace. The song does come with a warning for explicit lyrics and a trigger warning for explicit subject matter, including violence and rape.

“This is not a song to play for your children,” Mary stated. “Not only is there foul language, but some of the things these people said they wanted to do to me is pretty explicit and downright chilling. It is definitely NOT appropriate for children…and maybe even some adults.”

Vocalist/songwriter-composer/multi-instrumentalist Mary Lemanski’s first gig came at age 11 when she filled in for the organist at her Catholic school’s church for a funeral. She was pulled out of class, aced the service, got paid $40, and was set on the path to becoming the musician she is today. These days, Mary is a fully-developed Pop/Rock/Alternative artist in her own right, excels at keyboards, vocals, drum programming, guitar, and bass, and writes songs that have been compared to Blondie, Tori Amos, and Carly Simon. She’s been releasing original music online since 1999. Her unique style blends Pop with Alternative, Rock, Hip-Hop, EDM, Jazz, Blues, Funk, and Punk.

In addition to being an artist, Mary has worked extensively in the music industry, including stints at Epitaph Records, BMG Entertainment, Clear Channel Radio/iHeart Radio, and Rhino Staging. She holds a Music/Business Administration degree from Millikin University, a certification in Audio Engineering from the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences, and an MBA in e-Business from the University of Phoenix, as well.

Music has always been part of life for Mary, and she intends to keep it that way. She draws inspiration from iconic performers like Ramones, Tori Amos, They Might Be Giants, Beck, and Whitney Houston but maintains a strong artistic vision that elevates her work to its own creative space. She hopes that listeners find meaning in her songs the same way she found it in her influences. Mary Lemanski is one of the most compelling emerging musicians in the ever-competitive Chicago music scene.
