SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA, November 30, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — On October 30, 2021, the California Sickle Cell Disease CBOs met in San Luis Obispo CA, to establish a groundbreaking strategic collaborative aimed at maximizing services to persons diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease, caregivers, and family members throughout California.
Cayenne Wellness Center | Sickle Cell Education, Support, and Advocacy invited ALL CBOs in California dedicated to Sickle Cell Disease to attend. The following CBOs accepted the invitation and were in attendance: Axis Advocacy, Cayenne Wellness Center, Cayenne Wellness Center / Inland Empire, SCCAC, SCAA-SF, and SC 101. Two additional CBOs, though having accepted the invite were unable to attend due to conflicts in their schedules (KIS Foundation and Sickle Cell Foundation of Orange County.)
At the retreat, attendees shared their major programming for 2022 and identified partnership opportunities among the CBOs. Commitments were made to assist in delivering the programs and publicizing the events through the individual CBOs.
Those in attendance wholeheartedly endorsed the Collaborative concept and are looking forward to quarterly check-up meetings and annual in-person meetings to further refine the Collaborative’s agenda and develop strategic initiatives to serve our constituency.
The next steps include:
• Identifying gaps in services to our constituents.
• Identifying additional programs to close the gaps in service.
• Identify the most appropriate CBOs to take the lead on additional programming and partnership opportunities.
• Identifying funding sources for the additional services.
Stay tuned for additional updates on the California Sickle Cell Disease CBO Collaborative initiatives and spotlight marketing opportunities of the individual CBOs and their upcoming programs.
Cayenne Wellness Center | Sickle Cell Education, Support, and Advocacy though located in Southern California, has regionally based Community Health Workers across the state of California (San Diego, Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Central, and Northern California).
