NASHVILLE, TN, September 11, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ — When you’ve met a man with a servant’s heart, a vibrant spirit, militarily disciplined and a brilliant mind, you’ve met Christopher Robinette, “Chris”. Chris is one of Songs for Sound’s board members on a board that has been redefining itself by adding some of the country’s finest and brightest young minds.
As one of Songs for Sound’s new board members, Chris is challenging the traditional role. He uses his humor and intelligence to win a room over, while also being deeply passionate about the military and services provided.
Chris grew up in the Oklahoma and was the Valedictorian of his high school graduating class. Prior to that, Chris attended The American Legion’s Boys State & Nation, a respected and selective educational program of government instruction for U.S. high school students. It was here in 1999, he found inspiration to serve. After visiting top schools like Vanderbilt and more, he decided to attend the Naval Academy where he received his Economics degree with honors.
Chris then went onto serve in the United States Navy from 2000-2011 as a Service Warfare Officer & Nuclear Engineer, Chris is no stranger to the threats of hearing loss with our service men and women. With the loud destructive noises causing noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and tinnitus (ringing of the ear), Chris joined Songs for Sound’s board and found solace knowing the Hearoes Program would help the needs of so many veterans.
The #1 and #2 disabilities returning from overseas in our military are tinnitus and hearing loss. Chris shared these thoughts, “as a veteran, I rarely use the VA because I get so frustrated dealing with them or trying to get through the system. I am so excited Songs for Sound has the Hearoes Program to help veterans in need of hearing loss support to conquer and navigate the VA. It’s personal to me.”
Songs for Sound’s Hearoes Program is a program designed to help Veterans navigate hearing healthcare whether it be through the VA or through private insurance. In some cases, when a veteran lacks coverage, the Hearoes Program donates hearing aids and cochlear implants to veterans in need. In 2015, Songs for Sound launched the inaugural Hearoes Tour, a hearing health experience traveling the country serving Americans of all ages, with a strong commitment and focus on high-risk populations such as veterans. By serving events such as The American Legion National Convention, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention, air shows and other patriotic events by weekend, the Hearoes Program was able to reach a large number of veterans in addition to civilians.
Chris’ heart is as big as they come as he’s compassionate about people and veterans because of his experiences. His father served in the airfare and sadly in 2005, Chris lost his mother to breast cancer. Chris was deployed at the time and he recalls it being one of the toughest times in his life.
All of Chris’ accomplishments and heartaches have lead him to be one of Songs for Sound’s most promising board members. His ability to bring in new support, was on full display this past November. Chris hosted our first ever Hearoes Program fundraisers. Chris Robinette’s “All-In-4-Vets” was a gala including casino play, an incredible auction and awareness for veterans suffering from hearing loss.
Proceeds from the one night event exceeded $25,000 for the Hearoes Program. It was truly a night that was pivotal for this important program. To date, the Hearoes Program has served over 2000 veterans through free hearing tests, devices, counseling and resources to regain the ability to hear after losing their ability to connect with others through one of our most vital senses.
Chris’ passion to give back doesn’t stop with his charity work for Songs for Sound. Chris wanted total autonomy over his ability to help others, which inspired him to launch his new brand — Lighthouse Planning – tagline guidance, protection & legacy — where Chris commits to helping people protect their family & assets & build a lasting legacy. He guides others so they live their best life. Kind of appropriate as the Songs for Sound mission is the same. Guiding others to live their best life with healthy hearing.
Songs for Sound is currently planning its Fall fundraiser, The Hardaway’s Hope Charity Golf Tournament at Westhaven Golf Club in Franklin, TN on Monday, Oct. 26th. To support and learn more and engage with other business professionals, visit SongsForSound.org.
