The group’s first meeting took place in Berlin, Germany, on January 29. Participants met to discuss the current escalation in Ukraine, weapon supplies, and possibilities of a full-scale war in the East of Ukraine.

BERLIN, GERMANY, February 17, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — The initiative group united politicians, writers, filmmakers, and musicians, worried about the future of Germany. Among them is Dieter Dehm, a member of the “die Linke” (“Left”) political party and one of the most active critics of the actions of NATO and Western imperialism. The group also includes Owe Schattauer, a well-known German peace activist and musician; Hermann Ploppa, a member of the die Basis party, writer, author of “Behind-the-Scenes Forces,” “70 years of NATO”, “Imaginary Democracy and the Deep State,” and several others. Wilhelm Domke-Schultz, a documentary filmmaker, recently visited the Donbas region and is now working on a new film about the actual situation there.

Dirk Pohlmann, documentary filmmaker, journalist, and active participant of the German peace movement, moderated the discussion.

Hermann Ploppa covered the issue of various European NGOs’ organized to influence public opinion in Ukraine. He provided concrete examples of the German-Ukrainian School of Governance and the German-Ukrainian Cultural Community.

Experts discussed internal and external conflict actors, searching for possible reasons and causes, considering current tensions between Russia and the West. They agreed that NATO’s activities had already tremendously harmed Germany and Russia’s relations and now keep destabilizing Europe.

Herman Ploppa reported about the NATO and US influence in Germany. He highlighted the plans to deploy American hypersonic missiles “Dark Eagle” in Mainz. Western actors, not Russia, mainly carry out active militarization.

Owe Schattauer also expressed the same concerns. He reminded that the US is already transferring additional 5,000 troops to the Baltic States to support Ukraine in the possible war with Russia. We can say they are calling for war between Russia and Ukraine in the Western media, and they are looking forward to it.

“The time has come to discuss withdrawal from NATO,” summarized Owe Schattauer.

Participants decided that the group will be holding regular meetings to identify possible threats and problematic issues in international relations and share facts and conclusions with the public.
