Central management system (CMS) provides easy control, management and savings
FREMONT, CA, November 16, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — Avon Old Farms School (Farmington, CT) has deployed a campus smart lighting solution with energy-saving LEDs controlled by a state-of-the-art central smart lighting control system from Dhyan Networks and Technologies Inc. (Dhyan), the device management experts.
Seeking to further reduce its energy consumption, Avon Old Farms School worked with Dhyan and its partner Sun Mountain Labs to design and implement a campus-wide smart lighting solution using LightMan, Dhyan’s state-of-the-art central management system (CMS) for buildings, area lighting and campuses. The system is just one of the initiatives in Avon School’s sustainability program.
“We needed an easy-to-use and easy-to-install CMS which also came with a good feature set,” said Matt Smith, founder of Sun Mountain Labs. “Dhyan’s LightMan fit the bill with more accuracy and control over on/off and dimming schedules, plus greater insight into the status of each and every light on campus,” he added. “LightMan provisioned the smart LEDs with zero-touch auto-provisioning and all nodes and gateways were up and running in one day, allowing us to easily meet our project schedule.”
Dhyan has been providing device management software for over 15 years to technology companies that cater to customers in the telecom, IoT and smart grid markets.
A cloud-based or on-premise product, LightMan is technology-agnostic and vendor-neutral, with built-in support for several industry standard protocols such as MQTT and RESTful APIs, and communication technologies such as Zigbee, LoRa, Wirepas, NB-IoT, Powerline, Cellular, etc. LightMan is a secure and easy-to-use comprehensive Central Management System (CMS) that monitors and manages smart light assets and sensors which are typically used in area lighting such as warehouses, campuses, and smart buildings.
“School campuses such as Avon have specific lighting needs to balance savings and security,” said Prakash Ramadass, Dhyan VP Smart Cities. “Smart LEDs with central management software such as LightMan provide the control they need to maximize their savings without compromising on safety and security.”
The Dhyan family of central management system software for the IoT market consists of LightMan for managing smart area lights such as in warehouses, campuses, and smart buildings, StreetMan for managing smart streetlights, and CitiMan for managing smart city IoT assets.
“We congratulate Avon Old Farms School for its unwavering decision to pursue sustainability efforts such as this,” said Matt Smith, founder of Sun Mountain Labs. “We were honored to play a role in helping Avon Old Farms School further decrease its ecological footprint,” added Prakash Ramadass, Dhyan VP Smart Cities.
