CAPD360 Insight for NoteReader

NEW YORK, NY, July 15, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — HITEKS Solutions Inc. (HITEKS) announced today that they have formally upgraded their outpatient-specific Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) module to their Epic-integrated and award-winning Computer-Assisted Physician Documentation (CAPD) solution.

Implemented at hundreds of hospitals and medical practices nationally, CAPD360 Insight speeds the delivery of CDI and quality queries directly to physicians in an automated approach that doesn’t slow doctors’ workflow. It also further enhances efficiency of CDI Specialist and Quality functions by providing real-time, configurable queries in 110 different diagnoses types to prioritize charts for reimbursement and quality review.

CAPD360 Insight solves a major problem with communication to and amongst physicians who otherwise struggle to respond in a timely manner to inpatient queries, and who do not receive any guidance on outpatient reimbursement. With the new E/M Coding Guidelines for Outpatient office visits, physicians need real-time advice on how to best complete their documentation to show the patient complexity as well as the resources expended at treating the patients.

HITEKS applies thousands of algorithms to the patient data and documentation within the EHR. HITEKS Insight platform uses all the documentation and combinations of signs, symptoms, lab results, medications and vital signs to cross-check which diagnoses, co-morbidities and procedures are most relevant for the patient and prompts the physician when there are conditions which have been overlooked or underspecified. The timely physician feedback improves physician education of reimbursement requirements, severity-adjusted quality scores for patients, claims codes and reduces denials to improve overall care management.

In June 2017 HITEKS joined Epic’s App Orchard to provide streamlined access and Epic support to its CAPD360 Insight platform. As a result, any of Epic’s clients can now simplify their implementation and reduce the IT burden and risk associated with 3rd party implementations. According to Dr. Gerry Petratos, CEO of HITEKS, “We are able to work right within Epic to streamline our client’s physician workflows so that all the information required to better understand the patient’s condition as it relates to quality and CDI is available within 1 second within a single screen of evidence presented to the documenting physician.”

HITEKS participation in the App Orchard Program allows Epic clients to benefit from the work that HITEKS has done to reduce complexity of interfaces and promote further interoperability between systems so that the net benefit is derived from physician users and their patients. Finally, the timely feedback serves as physician education so that once physicians begin receiving HITEKS queries, they are reminded as to the reimbursement requirements which prevents them from further documentation efficiencies in other patient accounts.
